RIP Daywalker™ aka T.C.M.
« on: August 04, 2009, 02:12:00 PM »
There's a very sad announcement to make...

We found out that two weeks ago, July 22nd,  Daywalker™ also known as T.C.M. unexpectedly died.

He was suffering from a heart condition for a while already, for which he was treated, but eventually his heart gave up.

He was only 39.

Because he was not only a good guy but also a well known scripter on DC and a debugger for Eximius as well, I would like to give people the opportunity to leave a personal message here so we can all honour him in our own way.

I did not know Daywalker in real life but I have known him on dc for a couple of years.

We did not talk often but when we did he seemed like a very nice guy and was always willing to help out with scripts or requests. He liked to joke around too, just like me.

His latest project was Flexhub and he gave me a place in the hub to help a little with this project. As most things Daywalker did, this project also looked very promising.

He will be surely missed on dc, a community he was part of and partially changed for the better.

May he rest in peace.

Je was een goede vriend voor me
ik heb ontzettend veel van je geleerd,je nam er ook altijd uitgebreid de tijd voor
steeds moest je weer lachen als ik weer eens met een fout bij je kwam

Didn't really know him.
Only was in a few hubs with him. i took part for a while with him in a blacklist project as "judge".

All i know about him is that he was a nice person to hang out with.

My most sincere condoleances to his wife

QUARTA-FEIRA, 5 DE AGOSTO DE 2009

Dying Inside...
Something so hard
goes straight to the soul;
it seems impossible to get over
and my heart is left with a big hole.

I'm trying to be happy, wearing a smile;
but I'm dying inside.
The world seems to be fading,
and I just want to run and hide.

Everything I do, I think of you
and realize how much I miss you;
and on the day you died
a piece of me died too.

This poem is dedicated to a dear friend who passed away. I'll never forget you Frans, may you Rest In Peace.

In the midst of life, we are in death...
Rest easy my young brother.
Suffer no more.
You will be missed.

I once wrote a poem to comfort someone on dc that lost a precious friend. This poem has been posted by me many times, unfortunately, on forums as well as on dc and I hope it will comfort some of you that read it too, no matter how sad it is to miss a friend.

People live and people die
Sometimes I ask myself why o why?
However it is just life and it is ment to be that way
Even if this is sad to answer or say
But keep one thing in mind and don't forget
That life itself is nothing to regret

Life is a gift and death is just a part
But for the people left over it is hard
Do remember the good things you have shared
And the times you both cared
And memories are not lost to you or anyone
It will be in your heart and mind forever
It will never ever be gone

Remember a smile, a touch, a kiss or a sound
And then you will feel a bit better
Because then he or she will not be lost but found

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

Just found this thread. Now I get a chance to say what I have wanted.

Whatever good I can say about Daywalker would not be enough. He was a diamond in the rough.... he was my friend. I will miss him dearly.

My condolences go to his wife and family. His memory will live on and he is part of everyone on DC by his work and the example he set to us all.

Rest in peace my brother.
